About Us

The "Be Happy Chili Cook Off” started on Saint Patrick's Day weekend in 1999 with a small group of friends that got together at the beautiful Loyd Park to simply "Be Happy" and enjoy their time together. Over the years this small group has grown to be a yearly event that has over 1000 attendees. As this event has grown, this group of friends have turned this simple camping trip into an opportunity to support our local community. Over the years "The Be Happy Chili Cook Off' has supported local organizations such as OWLS (Opportunities to Work, Learn and Succeed), Veterans of Foreign Wars, Life's Adventure Youth Foundation and many more. While this is still a yearly event, the Be Happy Charity Coalition was founded as a result. Having our 501(c)3 gives us the opportunity to further support our community all while being happy!
